Coffee Breaks are 30-ish minute chats over Substack LIVE with the paid members of this community. It’s a chance to learn more about them and their work and talk about some of the real challenges and opportunities as a food writer today.
What becomes obvious within 30 seconds of talking to Anna is how genuinely interested she is in other people. The most interesting people are interested people, and that’s Anna.
I learned a lot about Anna during this conversation, but I also learned a great deal about publishing. Anna has self-published two cookbooks and traditionally published two others. She shared her experiences with both publishing paths, including how she used self-publishing to build her platform.
We also talked about a hundred other things because, as you will see, Anna is the kind of person you can talk to all day and never run out of topics.
About Anna
Anna is the author of the Eat Happy Cookbooks, including Eat Happy Cocktail Hour which comes out in October!
In addition to writing cookbooks, Anna is also a comedian, professional voice talent, recipe developer, and food photographer with an extensive product line and a best selling Substack newsletter. So, yes, we’ll definitely be talking about how she juggles all of those balls and makes it look so damn easy.
Anna’s recipes are always gluten free, and almost always keto, low carb, NSNG (No Sugars No Grains), Whole 30, and grain free.
The goal of Mastermind for Food Writers and The Food Writers Business Lab isn’t simply to gather more information. It’s to build a better business alongside people who genuinely want to see each other succeed.
