Happy Monday everyone! Here’s what’s coming up in Mastermind For Food Writers and The Food Writers Business Lab.
I’m on vacation for the first 2 weeks of September so the start to the month will be a bit quiet. But there are two Mastermind Meetings later this month that are free for all to join. And, paid subscribers, I hope to see you on the 16th for the Business Strategy Meeting!
When I return, look for coffee break chats with Anna Vocino, Kerry Faber, Maggie J, Melissa Norman, and Kalee Tilli - Table Root Farm.
September Mastermind For Food Writers Meeting, North America and Europe
There are two different meetings in two different time zones this month. Both meetings are free to join. Here’s how to register!
Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific Meeting: Wednesday, September 9 at 8am BST
North American and Europe Meeting: Wednesday, September 23 at 11am EST
The September Business Strategy Meeting
A once a month mastermind meeting for paid members who are focused on building a sustainable business as a food writer.
The September Business Strategy Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16 at 1pm EST.
This is a working meeting for food writers who are focused on building a sustainable business. It’s an opportunity to share ideas, troubleshoot roadblocks, test strategies, and help each other make better decisions about where to invest our time and energy.
Thanks to those of you who were able to join the August meeting! If you missed it, here’s where you can watch the recording and register for the meeting in September.
Recording from the August Mastermind Meeting
If you missed this month’s meeting, here’s where you’ll find the recording. We discussed a lot of topics, including Audience Specific Content Blocks, the many considerations when turning on paid, how we are thinking about our work right now, the pitfalls of app subscriptions, how to schedule notes.
Coffee Break Chat with Rose Huxford!
Rose Huxford joined this community just a few weeks ago, became one of the first members to upgrade to a paid subscription, and jumped feet first into the classes offered in The Food Writers Business Lab.
As you’ll hear in this conversation, that’s the kind of person Rose is. When she sees what she wants, she goes for it. She’s not easily intimidated by hard work or steep learning curves. She knows the power of community to open doors, offer support, and point her in the right direction.
Rose’s story is one of turning inward to face her own challenges and find meaningful solutions, then taking all that hard-won knowledge and generously sharing it with the rest of us.
Coffee Break Chat with Rachel Ciordas!
I had the privilege of meeting Rachel Ciordas in person earlier this year and, as you’ll see in this conversation, she is one of the kindest, most welcoming, and genuine people I know.
Rachel is a teacher at heart and that comes through in everything she does. In this conversation, you’ll hear her story of how she came to write Next Level Gluten Free and the great lengths she goes through to make sure every recipe she publishes is delicious and foolproof.
