Recording from the November 12 meeting
This week’s call was the first one in this time zone. We were a very small group, albeit coming four different countries (Portugal, Croatia, Poland and Australia), so the call was less structured than the bigger group.
The master-class for this week was around values and how how our personal values shape the way we write and run our Substack. We set out to answer questions such as: What are your top three values and how they influence how you write, publish and engage with your readers and other writers on Substack? How does each of the values help you? How might each one hinder you?
Our conversation was centred around values and whether food writing should be political and here is a brief written summary:
Here is the recording of our conversation.
I am afraid you can’t see me- the host- Liza Debevec- because I turned off self view (as I don’t like looking at myself and didn’t realise it will mean I don’t show on the recording- so if you want to see how I look- here is a link to a recent selfie in a note).
If you are interested in doing a values and end of year reflection workshop with me (Liza), you can read about it here: 3-part end of year Reflection Workshop.
Upcoming topics include: How to Start Your Cookbook Proposal, The 5-Minute Magazine Pitch Makeover, and How to Find a Writing Schedule That Works For You.
