Recording and Notes From the December 17 Meeting
The beauty of small conversations
We had such a lovely conversation in this month’s Europe/Africa/Asia Pacific meeting, and several first-timers joined us. We were a small group, which once again, allowed for an interesting and intimate conversation around a number of great topics. As not everyone will have time to watch the recording, if you want to meet some fellow food writers in the European time zone, I am tagging them here: Amela Marin The Lemon Grove (Bruce), Lizzie Wingfield and Harshita saxena. Check out their publications, and subscribe/follow if you can.
We talked about our respective Substack publications, about funny or weird Christmas traditions in the places we live or come from. We also talked about how to navigate Notes and other aspects of Substack, and shared what works and what feels relevant or meaningful for each of us. Also a bit about how each of us handles subscribing, following and unsubscribing. We ended by sharing our dreams for our Substack experience in 2026. It was a really pleasant conversation, and we hope other members will watch the recording as well. We also look forward to more people joining the Europe/Africa/Asia-Pacific Zoom call in January.
Here is the video of the session. I hope you can enjoy our conversation and — if you’re in our time zone — you will consider joining us in January when we meet again.
