Liza and Linda, the two of you are doing such a beautiful job with this! Thank you for your passion, generosity, and thoughtful time and attention in creating a space that is already allowing us to connect in a way that feels restorative. I can't wait for the first meeting.
I'd like to return to actually reading cookbooks. Is this Book Club a separate group on Substack? In addition to booking and joining the event on June 3rd, what else do we need to do? Buy the book, make recipes from it, perhaps?
Hi Lynn, an earlier post explains a bit about how we choose this book. During the meetup we’ll talk about the book. There is no separate Substack for this. But you can use your own Substack to write about your experience of reading this book and maybe talk about whether you tried cooking some of the recipes. It’s really conceptualized as a movable feast so you do with it what you need to do with it to make you happy.
Thanks. I used to have one of Dianne's books, 'How to Eat a Peach', but lost it during a recent clear out. Note to self, take more care when clearing bookshelves :-(
Hi Mira, the notes I received from Diana are in this post. I can’t recall if we’ve made a definite decision about recording, but personally, I’m leaning against it.
Ah, I misunderstood and thought there was more wisdom from Diana to be shared in the actual gathering. Thank you for sharing it here, I appreciate that.
Sorry to miss this, as I’ll be on a whirlwind trip to the US at this time. But I’ve loved Diana Henry for years, have most of her books, and this one sits on my bedside table. Happy reading!
Maybe you can join us in an asynchronous way, Alison, by writing about your love of Diana Henry and we can link to your post from the group follow-up post or in notes before. And happy traveling.
Bought the book a little while ago and loved the first couple of essays, so evocative, prompting memories. Then I put it back on the TBR pile … so many books! This is my prompt to go back to it.
Ah, such a shame. My husband is going to be away so I won't have childcare for this time so can't attend. I have nearly finished the book though and will certainly write a few thoughts on my own stack. Thank you again for setting this up. I have already picked up the next two and can't wait to read them.

Thank you, Rebecca for creating this group in the first place and being so welcoming.
The Food Readers Book Club seems like such a logical extension of the generosity you established in our MM group, Rebecca. Thank you.
Reading this at the moment and loved reading the notes Diana gave. Thank you for sharing.

I hope you're able to join us for the discussion Lynn! It will be wonderful to see you!

How to eat a peach is my favourite book of hers!
Thank you Liza and Linda for doing this.
Unfortunately I am going to be on holiday with family. I'm hoping you'll record this as I'd love to watch/listen/learn.
I'm truly enjoying the book and have been sharing lots of of notes with my thoughts.
And I'm excited about the next book as well.
Ah, that is a shame, but of course, holiday takes precedence! And there will be many more Book Club meetings…
Are you recording it? And if not will you at least share the notes from Diana?

You’re welcome. I have nothing else at my sleeve. Not able to hold onto secrets for long :)

California and Washington. Trip includes a brief stop at my house in Seattle to grab some more of my cookbooks and bring them back to Portugal.
Where in the US are you visiting, Alison?

Welcome to the Food Readers Book Club, Sue!

I look forward to reading your thoughts about the book.
Excellent, Shell. A moveable feast!
