December Meeting Information!
Dates and other important info
Hello everyone!
November was such a great month! Thanks to Liza Debevec, we launched a second meeting in a different time zone that’s more convenient for those in Europe, Asia, and Australia. And thanks to Chef Carla Contreras, we held our first Office Hours meeting.
I also asked for volunteers to teach mini-master class sessions at the start of the mastermind meetings and we have some incredibly inspiring topics coming up as a result. If you would like to sign up to teach a mini-masterclass, here’s the sign up sheet: Volunteer to Teach a Mini Masterclass
*We are especially looking for people to teach a mini masterclass session for Liza’s meeting, which takes place at 8am London time. If you reside in Europe, Africa, or Asia Pacific, or know a food writer who does, please consider signing up to teach or sharing the opportunity with someone you know! This is a new meeting, and we appreciate your help spreading the word about it!
Here’s what’s coming up in December

The December 10th Mastermind Meeting Topic
Kelsey Erin Shipman will be teaching a masterclass for the December 10th meeting about writing a cookbook proposal. This past summer, I took an intensive 8-week book proposal workshop, called Dream to Deal, that Kelsey co-teaches with Hannah Howard.
The class was fantastic and I learned so much, but the best part was the level of support that Kelsey and her co-teacher Hannah Howard offer throughout the class. Kelsey has written, co-written, and consulted on dozens of book proposals. She knows her stuff and is incredibly generous with the insights and expertise she’s gained from years of experience as a writer.
So, when Kelsey volunteered to teach a 30-minute masterclass for the December meeting, I asked her if she would be willing to teach a 90-minute class instead. Having gone through the 8-week class, I know how much there is to say on the subject and how much Kelsey has to offer.
Happily, she agreed. So, unlike most meetings, where we have a 30 minute masterclass, then divide into breakout rooms, this month’s class will focus on one single subject: Writing a cookbook proposal.
Obviously, 90 minutes is not enough time to cover such a huge topic, but Kelsey has generously agreed to share as much as she can and answer as many questions as we have time for.
If you are curious about what it takes to write a cookbook proposal, you won’t want to miss this meeting.
If you have specific questions that you’d like answered during this meeting, please leave those questions in the comments below. Having some of your more pressing questions in advance will help us be as efficient with the time as possible.
