An Invitation to Vote for the Book(s) and Have a Say in the Logistics
A few months ago, while drinking vermut in a lovely Catalan cafe (see some images below), I (Liza Debevec) had a brilliant idea of starting a food focused book club. I posted a tipsy message in the Mastermind group chat and many of you responded enthusiastically.
Here we are a few months later and the book club is now almost a reality. Linda Naylor — who kindly volunteered to co-host the book club— and I have met a couple of times to discuss the titles (making sure that if at all possible, the books are available through non-Amazon links and the Libby app) and talked about some of the guiding principles for our book club. We are now ready to reveal that we have created a short poll for people to vote in. The poll is available at this link and it contains all the info we have at the moment.
We would like to gauge the interest of the group members to participate in the book club. We want to make sure that the frequency of the meetings and the top choices for books are agreed by the majority (of people who vote- if you don’t vote, you can’t complain). Once we have the answers to this, we will then proceed in proposing the first book selection, the date and share the guiding principles. By voting, you are not committing to anything yet, but it does help us understand the general vibe among the people who are interested in the idea of the food book club.
